International Day of Forests
Every March 21st, the world celebrates the International Day of Forests. This date reminds us of the vital importance of these ecosystems for life on the planet. Forests host 80% of terrestrial biodiversity, regulate the climate, and protect the soil. Moreover, they are home to communities that directly depend on them.
However, deforestation is advancing at an alarming rate. In the Peruvian Amazon, illegal logging and the expansion of extractive activities threaten its balance. In the face of this challenge, it is essential to take urgent action.
Arbio Perú’s Commitment
At Arbio Perú, we work daily to conserve the Amazon rainforest. We protect more than 900 hectares in Madre de Dios through a voluntary conservation model. To achieve this, we involve individuals and companies in the protection of century-old trees, which are essential for the ecological stability of the jungle.
A New Partnership: Grupo Santander and Arbio
Today, on this International Day of Forests, we share news that fills us with hope. Grupo Santander is joining the conservation of the Amazon by adopting 150 hectares of forest in partnership with Arbio.
This support represents a significant step toward biodiversity protection. Additionally, it strengthens initiatives that seek sustainable solutions. The participation of the private sector in conservation is key to ensuring the continuity of these efforts. The partnership with Grupo Santander demonstrates that companies can take an active role in protecting the Amazon.
International Day of Forests: A Call to Action
Protecting forests is a shared responsibility. At Arbio, we continue to invite more people and organizations to join this cause. Today, on the International Day of Forests, we encourage you to reflect on their impact on your life and take action to ensure their future.
You can contribute by protecting a big Amazonian tree or your own hectare of forest. You can also support conservation initiatives and spread awareness about the importance of these ecosystems.
Every protected tree is a breath for the planet. Let’s keep working together to conserve the Amazon and ensure that its natural wealth continues to be a source of life for future generations.
